Frequently Asked Questions

The questions and answers below are here to provide more information related to registration, enrollment, MPOETC grade transfer, as well as helpful tips for PAVTN.net.

In order to access PAVTN.net, you must be registered as a member of the site. Typically, officers are registered by their departments to complete courses on PAVTN.net. If you are not a member of PAVTN.net, but would like to be, please visit the Enrollment FAQ to learn more.

If you are a member of PAVTN.net, simply login to the site and access the available online courses.

If would like to enroll a course that is currently not available to you (MIST courses), please visit the Enrollment FAQ to learn more.

If you are not a law enforcement officer, visit the ACT 139 Training for First Responders page to complete the training and earn your certificate.

Law enforcement officers should request registration (if not already a member) or login to PAVTN and go to the Roll Call Curriculum to complete the Naloxone training.

To help us keep our administrative cost low, we request that departments or officers complete the single officer enrollment form to enroll officers, or to enroll many at one time please use the department form.

To create a membership for an officer in PAVTN.net specific profile information is needed.

  • VALID email address (this will be used as login information for PAVTN.net, as well as a line of communication regarding course completion)
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • MPOETC number

It is recommended that the first name, last name and MPOETC number provided match what is contained in the MPOETC TACS exactly. PAVTN.net will be unable to transfer grades to the MPOETC system if this data does not match.

If your department is not covered by ACT 120 and you don’t have MO#s, you need the approval from MPOETC.  However, you can be enrolled in all the other non-MPOETC courses.  To obtain MPOETC approval you must submit your oath of office to: [email protected]

Spreadsheet Instructions

  1. Enter valid email address, first name, last name, title and MPOETC number for each officer you are registering.
  2. Save the spreadsheet in the MS spreadsheet format (do not convert to a PDF)
  3. Attach the spreadsheet in an email to [email protected]

Download PAVTN Officer Registration Enrollment form now.

After you've completed all sections of a course, you can access your certificate by clicking the Certificate button that appears at the top of the course page. Certificates are also available on your learner transcript.

PAVTN transfers completed course credits to TACS automatically.

If you are a MPOETC officer, upon completing a MPOETC approved course your completed course credits will automatically be transferred to the TACS system. Credits will be placed in a queue for transfer, so TACS may not show them instantly. Credits should be updated within 24 hours.

In order to properly save your eLearning records, when you reach the end of a module (the last screen) you must click the X in the circle at the top right corner of the eLearning module frame. Closing modules in this way ensures that your records are saved properly to the system. If an error occurs in saving your record, an error window will display a message that will provide details about the error.

The Forgot Password function sends an email from our system to the email address that we have on record. The email includes a link to reset your password. The link is active for  one (1) hour from the time it is sent.

If you complete the Forgot Password action, but do not receive an email the message may have been stopped by a spam filter. We recommend contacting your IT department and asking them to have the following email addresses placed on the email whitelist: [email protected].

Once these emails have been whitelisted with your IT department you will be able to receive messages from PAVTN.net. You can then use the Forgot Password function again to receive the message.
